Dear Diary

My week musically has been one of nostalgic satisfaction and futuristic fusion and as always, accompanied by a southern country twang. One song from Enrique had me re-downloading the CD I probably have neatly packed into a storage container preparing for the day when I open my teenage 'time-capsule'. Inside this container I'm sure I'll find photocopied images of all of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's books, Hilary Duff album images, posters of The Backstreet Boys, an Enrique poster, a large stack of Nancy Drew books, a tatty pair of soccer boots, my lucky garters, one or two Bratz Dolls, Saltwater Girl magazines, chunky colourful jewelry and at the bottom, my diaries harboring my deepest 13 year old secrets would be tucked away.

Inspire & Aspire

“The capacity to be alone is the capacity to love. It may look paradoxical to you, but it's not. It is an existential truth: only those people who are capable of being alone are capable of love, of sharing, of going into the deepest core of another person--without possessing the other, without becoming dependent on the other, without reducing the other to a thing, and without becoming addicted to the other. They allow the other absolute freedom, because they know that if the other leaves, they will be as happy as they are now. Their happiness cannot be taken by the other, because it is not given by the other.”
